Upclose & Personal: Mapex Armory The Tomahawk 14" x 5.5" Black Chrome Steel Snare

Mapex Armory, next arsenal in the new series of Snares - The Tomahawk! We had seen last: Daisy Cutter and The Peacemaker.

And this review, you will have a close view and know a bit more of the next arsenal of Mapex Armory snare drums; The Tomahawk!

The Rounded 45 degrees edge Steel Snare, here we go:

Mapex Armory The Tomahawk 14" x 5.5" Steel Snare
The Tomahawk is built up as 14" x 5.5" 1.mm black chrome stainless steel shell. The Tomahawk has penetrating accuracy and long range projection!

2.3 mm Power Hoops
It has been said to gives you the focused power of its rimshot the most devasting experience!

Piston Strainer with Vertical Throw-off
And the throw-off is slick to operate, and uses Mapex’s Vertical proven design with the Piston Strainer with the new Mapex logo embossed on it, making it cooler!

1.0 mm Black Chrome Stainless Steel Shell - 45 degrees edged
The snare wires are premium stainless steel with brass end-plates.
The tone, while characteristically metal, is rich and full (with that "greasy phatback" sound).

Built with  Remo® USA Coated Ambassador® Batter drumhead

Try to imagine your favourite ballad snare drums, or a snare drum you have heard that resonates all over a large venue - it's as if The Tomahawk has its own built in reverb!
